Hong Kong: Got the juices flowing in a good 90 minute hilly workout early this morning on Mount Davis Path. Like clockwork a coterie of elderly Chinese started up the hill at 6:30am. When I first started the early morning climbs they growled at me, but now greet the crazy gweilo with hearty “jo sans” and enthusiastic thumbs up as I climb up and down the hill.
TransAmerica 2010 has also received wider media attention in Hong Kong this week from two of the city’s leading dailies, the South China Morning Post today and the Chinese language Ming Pao on Monday. Coverage in Time Out and a live radio interview on RTHK are planned for next week.

|As sporty as he is, media executive Todd Miller’s staying power will be sorely tested on a solo bicycle tour across the US later this month. Sony Pictures Television International’s executive vicepresident for Asia Pacific, Miller aims to cover 5,840 kilometres, crossing nine states in 50 days, to raise money for the charity A New Day Cambodia.”I’ve been on biking and hiking trips but have done nothing on this scale. But you have to start somewhere, some time.
I’ll either get addicted to this or never want to ride a bike again,” he said.
